The Outstanding Young Farmer Awards recognize these in dividuals for their achievements in their farming operations and in civic involvement. The Young Farmers also presented community service awards to outstanding members. The state honor went to Calvin and Linda Fisher Jr. of Selinsgrove, the region 3 winners. The Fishers own and operate a 145-head dairy and crop 350 acres. Regional community service awards went to Earl and Sandra Geib, Elizabethtown; Marvin and Barbara Brown, Gettysburg; and Robert and Jane Sattazahn, Womelsdorf. Randall Campbell, an advisor at Derry High School in West moreland County, was honored with the Outstanding Young Farmer Advisor Award. The Outstanding Young Farmer Chapter Award went to the Ephrata chapter. Brown Valley Farm from the t Phoebe Bitter Gettysburg Chapter took first place and received $375, with an additional $1,125 going to the chapter. Other winners, in order of their placings, were: Arthur and Don Krall, Cedar Crest; Carl and Kevin Brown, Blue Mountain; Daryl L. Alger, Annville-Cleona; Fred Scholl, Selinsgrove; and John Rife, Chambersburg. Election of officers was also part of the convention schedule. The 1986 state officers are: Dale Rossman, president; Ronald O’Neil, president elect; Donald Mooney, secretary; Glenn Snyder, treasurer; and Lynn Sanner, public relations. In addition the following regional vice presidents were elected Region 2, Barry Geib; Region 3, Robert Comman, Region 4, Harry Hilbert; Region 5, Larry Hay, and Region 7, Frederick Bohn.
