Rain, snow or a storm can change our plans and make us happy. Sometimes little things can pile up and cause us to worry. Last week I was concerned because an important letter from the U.S. government was seven weeks overdue. And, the grandfather clock would not run despite my pushing the pendulum every half hour for days. Another disturbing fact was a large amount of money that was due me for over half a year and no check was forth coming. Now I know these were all little things compared to a real calamity. Yet somehow, they kept running through my mind con tinually and bothered me. Then came the day when the SADDLE UP! Next a man appeared not only bearing my check but also a very nice gift as a token of friendship. To top off this list of good hap penings, the grandfather clock began to tick. However, it only worked after I told it, “This is the last time that I’ll start you.” It must have heard me because it has been running ever since. Now I can sit and rip skirts and slacks apart and have some pleasant thoughts. I’m planning a trip to south for March and hope it will be springtime there when I arrive.
