NY Hereford Associations ITHACA, NY - For the first time in recent memory, there will be only one state association sponsored Polled Hereford breeding cattle sale in New York this spring. The Empire Polled Hereford Association have joined forces to sponsor what is expected to be one of the best offerings of Polled Hereford breeding stock that New York State has everseen. Billed as the “Spring Select Show and Sale”, the date has been set for April 19, with the show starting at 9 a.m. and the sale following at 12:30 p.m. in the Cornell Livestock Pavillion, Ithaca. All female" in the sale will have been bom Jan. 1, 1983 or later, and those females over two years of age will either be bred or have a calf at side. The offering will also include yearling heifers out of the nation’s top sires and a join for spring sale selected group of promising young bulls. All animals will be properly vaccinated according to NY State health regulations. As an added note, a fund will be started by Polled Hereford breeders in NY State for a “Bred and Owned” premium at the 1986 NYS Fair. Donations will be ac cepted from the private sector or corporations.
