Miller captures “Best Doe of Show ” in Dairy Goat show
BY MARTHA J. GEHRINGER
HARRISBURG - Best doe of
show honors for the 1986 Farm
Show Dairy Goat show went to Ann
Miller from* Furlong, Bucks
County.
Ann is no stranger to winning.
This year she stood in the top
placing with her La Mancha four
year-old doe in milk, GCH Jenny J
Rock Dixie. Ann has had the best
doe of show every year at the farm
show since goats started showing
there four years ago.
Miller has a herd of 30 goats,
Toggenburg and La Mancha, in
Furlong. This year she showed 15
at the farm show. Included among
the goats she left at home were two
permanent champions, and three
that only need one more leg to
become permanent champions.
This year’s champion has been a
permanent champion since she
was a milking yearling.
The judge for this year’s contest
was Mary Stiles lager, of Maple
Lawn Farm, Fulton MD. The
following are the top three placings
from each of the classes.
