John Wayne Wilkinson _
John Wayne Wilkinson, 19, of
Armbrust, has been a member of
the Central Westmoreland FFA
Chapter for three years. He is a
graduate of Hempfield Area Senior
High School.
John holds the Greenhand and
Chapter Farmer degrees. He was
selected Star Greenhand.
He served his chapter as sentinel
and treasurer and competed in the
state Wildlife Contest. In addition,
he competed in the chapter
Welding, Cold Metal, and Tractor
Pulling Contests.
John was chairman of the Citrus,
Greenhouse and Candy Com
mittees. He was a member of the
Initiation and Tool Panel Com
mittees.
He is currently studying or
namental nursery management at
Penn State University. He is
planning to become a partner in his
family’s nursery business.

Richard is a 17-year-old senior at
Dover Area High School. His SOE
projects include finishing market
swine for the York Fair and the
Farm Show, beef finishing, beef
breeding, swine breeding, raising
strawberries and working for his
parents on their farm. He is
presently employed by Rineway
Dairy Farm.
Richard’s achievements in the
FFA include Outstanding
Greenhand, proficiency awards in
swine finishing and diversified
livestock production and 1984 York
County Star Farmer.
He was president of the Dover
Chapter for 1984-85 and won the
county Agronomy Contest in 1984.
Richard plans to continue
working for Rineway Dairy Farm
after graduation.
William Jay Boothe
William Jay Boothe, 19, is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Okie W.
Boothe, Fawn Grove. William has
been a member of the Kennard-
Dale FFA Chapter for four years.
William has four years of work
experience. He served on the
Leadership Committee for .two
years and on the Cooperation
Committee for one year.

as president and was York County
treasurer in 1983. He was named
Star Agribusinessman and won a
Dekalb Award. In addition, he
earned a second place in the Ag
Salesmanship Contest and a fifth
place in the state Ag Sales Contest.
In 1985 William was the State Ag
and Sales Proficiency Award
winner and the Eastern Region
Proficiency Award winner. He was
the state project book winner in
1984.
William plans a future in the
army followed by a career in
agriculture business.
