Delmarva Poultry
Thursday, Dec. 19
Report supplied by USDA
Market Comment; Demand for
ready to cook whole birds and
parts is slow to very slow at most
plants and maintaining
satisfactory clearances has been
quite difficult. Seller offerings
were generally noted as easily
available on all product. Some
settlers noted a willingness to offer
discounts on trucklots to stimulate
movement. Live supplies were
fully adequate to ample. Weights
were in a wide range but mostly
desirable to heavy. Slaughter
schedules were again reduced and
very light in total. The undertone
remained weak and unsettled.
Today’s L.T.L. asking prices
were 2 cents lower on U.S. Grade A
at .4S-.49 cents.
Estimated slaughter of broiler
fryers in Delmarva (000).

Wednesday, Dec. 18
Report supplied by USDA
Market Comment: Prices were
lower this week; developing at the
inside of today’s range for next
week. Seller offerings continued to
increase and were more than
sufficient to handle processor
schedules, particularly for next
week when operations will be
curtailed in observance of the
holiday. Demand for processed
meat was showing improvement at
lower trending prices but was
noted only as moderate overall.
