The Airville 4-H Club presented club awards during its annual achievement night. Club awards were presented as follows: beef, Justine Hedrick; ceramics, Dwight Hedrick; clothing, Mary Muller; en tomology, Brice Linder; horse, Tina Hedrick; quilting, Mandy Mitchell; and small engines, Joe Mitchell. Wildlife, Cory Snyder; rookie girl, Kerrie Kilgore; rookie boy, Allen Muller, outstanding junior girl, Jenny Jefferies; outstanding junior boy, George Williams; A group of square dancers from the State College “Little Lions” FFA Chapter attended the recent National FFA Convention. Twelve dancers, a square dance caller, and their advisor, David Seamans, traveled by motor home to the convention, making several stops to perform. The group visited and performed at the Chicago High School of Agricultural Science in Chicago; Hudson Christian Home in Hudson, Wis.; and Sand Hill Farms in Somerset, Wis. At the convention the group made three performances around Kansas City and performed in the National Talent Show.
