The next meeting will be at the home of Gladys Ney on Oct. 19 at 2 p.m. An auction will be held. Members may bring crafts, food or other items to sell. Mrs. Dorothy Gerlach provided the program, “I hear the Reapers Song.” The next meeting will be on Oct. 21 at the home of Dorothy Boas. The group made plans for the coming year. President Kathy Scott reminded members of State Farm Women’s Day on Oct. 14. The following homes will be open to the public: Joan Denlmger, Strasburg, and Fran Souders, Mt. Joy Christmas in October is Oct. 21 and 22 at the Farm and Home Center. The group decided on a $1 membership fee. The state con vention is planned for Jan. 13 and 14. Berks Society 11 Berks Society 11 met in October at the home of Jean Erb. President Wendy Lmgle presided over the meeting, Five members will at tend the County Convention. The December meeting was changed to Dec. 9 and the Christmas party was set for Dec. 7 at the Bethel Community Center. A silent auction was held after the meeting. DAIRY SERVICE RD 2, Box 2332 LEBANON Steve Wenger and Mark Patches, both of Lebanon, have been nominated to receive the American Farmer degree, the highest degree presented by the National FFA Organization. These FFA’ers are among 658 members who will receive their American Farmer degrees during a special ceremony on Nov. 15, during the National FFA Con vention. Mark is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Patches, Lebanon, and is currently farming with his parents. He earned the American Farmer degree on the basis of his Supervised Occupational Ex perience Program. Mark’s projects were dairy animals, field crops and steers. He was also active in the Cedar Crest FFA. Steve is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Wenger of Lebanon, and is currently farming in partnership with his father. He earned his degree on the basis of his Supervised Farming Program, which included dairy animals, capons and field crops. In addition, Steve was Cedar Crest’s FFA chapter president for two years and was chairman of various committees.
