Maryland plans
vet tech tests
ANNAPOLIS, Md. - On May 28,
1965, the State Board of Veterinary
Medical Examiners will ad
minister the State Veterinary
Tephnician Examination for
candidates wishing to become
certified as a Registered
Veterinary Technician. The exam
will be given at Essex Community
College, Room 101, Math/Science
Building, in Baltimore County.
The new certification program
for veterinary technicians was
created by recent legislation which
requires the State Board of
Veterinary Medical Examiners to
evaluate, examine, and determine
the qualifications for applicants
for registration as a Veterinary
Technician.
The Board, through its
Veterinary Technician Committee,
has adopted regulations that
describe the qualifications for
examination and registration of
Veterinary Technicians.
Applications must be received
by the State Board of Veterinary
Medical Examiners at the
Maryland Department of
Agriculture, 50 Harry S. Truman
Parkway, Annapolis, Maryland,
21401 by April 28.
Examination application forms
may be obtained by writing or by
calling (301) 841-5862. More in
formation about the program can
be obtained by contacting the
Board.
Legal problems
(Continued from Page A 18)
in a fair way,” states Read.
“Workers may have bona fide
reasons to make a complaint. They
have a right to be heard.”
Read also says the earlier a case
is resolved, the less costly it is. He
sometimes sees patterns of
problems with a particular crew
leader or grower repeatedly
figuring in complaints. He feels it
is necessary to see if a problem can
be prevented in the future. If a
complaint should go to litigation,
the grower may also want to have
a different attorney than his crew
leader.
“Do not take it as a reflection
against you if a worker goes to an
outside person such as a priest or a
spokeperson for Legal Services,
for advice,” says Read. “They
may do so because of a language
problem.”
