PAFC appoints
executive secretary
HARRISBURG - Kathy E. Gill
of Carlisle is assuming respon
sibilities as executive secretary of
the Pennsylvania Association of
Farmer Cooperatives starting
Feb. 5, according to President
Ward Cooper.
Gill replaces Wallace Dunlap of
York, who served in a part-time
capacity as administrative
director for 18 months.
“Appointing a full-time
executive secretary is only one
step towards fulfilling the long
range goals of the organization,”
Cooper said.
Gill has worked in the press
office of the state Department of
Agriculture since July 1984. Prior
to that, she was communications
manager for Inter-State Milk
Producers’ Cooperative of
Southampton.

Cooper said. “While an Inter-State
employee, she served on the PAFC
Board of Directors for three years,
specializing in cooperative
education and cooperative
relations.”
A native of Georgia, she holds a
bachelor of arts degree in jour
nalism from the University of
Georgia and a master of science
degree in agricultural economics
from Virginia Polytechnic In
stitute and State University.
Her contributions to the field of
agricultural journalism have been
recognized by her peers in the
Cooperative Editorial Association
as well as by the National Milk
Producers Federation and the
National Council of Farmer
Cooperatives.
