R.D. 1 MOUNTAIN ROAD, DILLSBURG, PA 17019 Farm Show Winners SMALL GRAINS HARRISBURG - Ed Wickard of RD 3, Carlisle, Cumberland County, captured two cham pionships in small grains com petition at the 69th Farm Show. He won championships with his exhibits of wheat and timothy seed. Vernon Wickard, also of RD 3, Carlisle, Cumberland County, exhibited the champion buckwheat and barley samples. Robert Schmidt of RD 3, Slatington, Lehigh County, exhibited the champion oats display, while Kirby Landenslager of RD 2, Halifax, Dauphin County, exhibited the champion sample of soybeans. Rahn Snyder of RD 2, Halifax, Dauphin County, exhibited the champion sample of rye. POTATOES Nevm W. Reitz of Spruce Street, Schnecksville, Lehigh County, captured both the grand and open divisions in potato classes at the Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg. He won the title with a display of katahdms. Jeffrey Masser of Pitman, Schuylkill County, won the youth division with a display of Superiors. HAY Jay McCarrell of Eighty Four, Washington County, exhibited both the grand champion and reserve champion hay samples at the 69th Pennsylvania Farm Show. The grand champion was a partially field cured plus heat dried sample of alfalfa, and his reserve champion was a partially field cured plus heat dried sample of alfalfa and grass mixed. FRUIT The Adams County Fruit Growers Association won the Gabriel Keister Award for the best collective exhibit at the 69th Farm Show in Harrisburg. The group alsp won the award for the best county fruit exhibit. Chairman of the display is Phil Roth of RD 5, Fairfield. Mt. View Fruit Farms, Inc. of RD I, Biglerville, Adams County, exhibited the best gift package and won the best of show award and State Horticultural Association Award for the best bushel of ap ples. The best gift basket was exhibited by Mager’s High Hopes Orchard of Upper Stump Road in Chalfont, Bucks County. John T.
