BY SALLY BAIR Staff Correspondent STRASBURG - The Lancaster County Farmers Association will begin their annual membership drive on Thursday, Nov. 29, ac cording to Ginny Ranck, general membership chairman. In a new twist, Ginny has asked seven county women to serve as membership coordinators. She said that in the past couples have Glen Rock 4-H Club Donna Wilson was honored as outstanding member of the Glen Rock 4-H Club at their annual Achievement Night held recently. Denise Duryea received the rookie award. And they are family mem berships,” she points out. The membership coordinators select captains for each township who contact workers to make direct visits to current and per spective members. Over 80 people will be involved with the drive. The women served on a com mittee headed by Ginny, and organized the drive in four membership areas. Those serving are: North: Florence Kline (626-1763) and Dot Myer (665-9421); East: Debbie Kayea (354-8317) and Thelma Hess (687-6547); South: Debbie Wenger (548-3116) and Sue Hess (872-5522); West: Nancy Brandt (665-4109). There are currently 1172 farm family members of the county association, an arm of the Penn sylvania Farmers Association, and the goal for 1985 is 1,230. Of this number, approximately 725 have already renewed their mem berships, so workers will be contacting those who have not yet renewed as well as potential new members. According to County Information Director Joan Yoder, membership is open to any working farm family. A small percentage of memberships is also allotted to agri-businesses. Any kind of farming enterprise is welcomed into the group. Ginny says, “The membership drive is one way to involve people and seek out new leaders.
