The Johnson brothers placed in the top three of nearly every breed division of the market lamb show, but it was their Suffolk entries that took the two championship titles for the top individual and top pen of three. The reserve champion in dividual, also a Suffolk lamb, in the open competition was shown by James Hefner, Lima, Ohio. B and B Livestock, Danville, Ohio, took the reserve champion pen of three title with their Hampshire entries. Although the Ohioans swept the championships in the open com petition, the honors in the junior market lamb show were shared by Massachusetts and Pennsylvania natives. Sharon Peckham of Belcher town, Mass., showed the champion lamb, and Margaret Herr of Narvon had the reserve champion individual. Herr, the daughter Dr. Robert and Betty W. Herr, comes from a family of winning exhibitors. Last year her sister Barb showed the grand champion in the open market lamb show. Along with her reserve championship this year, Margaret also showed the first place pen of three in the junior market lamb show. Judge of the KILE market lamb shows was Dr. Leroy Boyd, a faculty member at Mississippi State University. Dr. Boyd is known for his teaching and sheep research.
