BY BARBARA RADER BUTLER The Butler County Holstein Show, held in conjunction with the Butler Farm Show, ended with several county exhibitors in top winning spots as judge Paul Dann announced his decisions. A pair of five-year-old cows, showed by the father-son team of Albert and Gary Hogg, received the grand and reserve grand champion honors. Albert Hogg’s “Altwi Star Happy Stacey” was named grand champion and she also earned Best Udder honors, best owned and bred and senior champion. Hogg’s son Gary took reserve senior and reserve grand cham pion with “Hogg-Acres Flame Chief Billie.” Gary is the breeder of this fine cow. The Hogg family’s Altwi Farm also won first place awards in the best three females, dairy herd and produce of dam classes. Graham-Haven Farm captured junior champion honors with its Chris Ulmer with Ginger Marie, her 4-year-old Alpine that was named grand champion junior dairy goat at the Lawrence County fair. The Main Street program was designed to preserve histone buildings in communities of less than 50,000 people. It evolved into a program of downtown revitalization with an emphasis on historic preservation.
