Flo—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, August 18,1984 ELIZABETHTOWN - The Keystone Chapter of the Soil Conservation Society of America (SCSA) recently held its 1984 Annual Meeting at Elizabethtown College. Selected as President and President-Elect include Joel Myers of Dauphin as President and Richard Pennay of R.D. Liverpool as President-Elect. Currently serving as Secretary-Treasurer is William Farley of Lewistown. Myers assumed the role of President from E. Lester Rothermel, of Klingerstown. He has been active in the society for the past four years serving as Awards Committee Chairman and Annual Program Chairman during the past year. An employee of the Soil Conservation ' Service, presently serving Dauphin County, Myers is also an active member and Secretary of the Dauphin County Federation of Sportsmens Clubs. Myers explained that he has several goals as the newly elected President. These include im proving communication within the state wide chapter, increasing the activity and involvement of its members and developing programs and holding technical sessions that will be of benefit to all resource related organization agencies and individuals. Richard Pennay, President- Elect has served as Chairman of the Student Relations Committee and has been active in other society programs and activities. He has served with ASCS in numerous capacities since 1957. He is a member of the PA Farm City Council and the Liverpool Lions Club. The primary goal of the Keystone Chapter of the SCSA is to promote the wise use and con servation of our states’ natural resources. The organization is open to anyone with these in terests. The benefits of mem bership include the Technical Publication “Journal of Soil and Water Conservation” which helps to keep the membership up to date in the area of current research in the field of soil and water resources.
