The FFA Alumni Association of Eastern Lebanon County held its second annual Ice Cream Social on Friday, July 20, at the Schaefferstown Fire Hall pavilion. Homemade ice cream with a variety of toppings of similar origin was served to some 350 persons. In addition, Glenn Wenger, of Myerstown, president of the Pennsylvania FFA Alumni, auctioned off homemade pies Pd. FFA'ers attend Washington Conference FFA Alumni at : Stale sKaimf' WASHINGTON, D.C. - Future Farmers of America from chap ters throughout Pennsylvania are attending the 1984 Washington Conference Program in the nation’s capital. The week-long program helps FFA members improve leadership skills, develop an understanding of national heritage and prepare for more effective leadership roles in their chapters and communities. Sessions on human relations, goal setting and personal com munications develop these skills. Personal outlook, motivation and pride are discussed Visits to Mount Vernon, the Smithsonian Institution, Arlington National Cemetery, the Jefferson Memorial and other historic sites in Washington are featured. The FFA’ers also visited the offices of area congressmen, in cluding Reps. Robert Walker and Gus Yatron and Sen. Arlen Specter.
