Gretna summer home of Mr. and Mrs. E. Musser Heisey. Miriam Heisey was the hostess. Society president Sara Myer named Martha Eshleman and Muriel Saylor to the nominating committee. The program consisted of games and puzzles prepared by Eva and Mary Thome. The group will hold an auction (last names M through! W) at the August 4 meeting at the home of Mary Hackman. Berks Society 4 Berks Society 4 held their monthly meeting at the home of Mrs. Charolette Mauyer, Bechtelsville. The evening’s program was Christmas m July. The group planned a trip for October to visit former member Mrs. Esther Good and a trip through the Pocono’s for a foilage tour. The next meeting will be the group’s picnic, scheduled for August 7 at the home of Mrs. Esther Sheeler. Progress Grange No. 96 Progress Grange No. 96, Centre Hall, observed June dairy month by having a family picnic at Grange Fairgrounds at its regular meeting on June 22. Lucille Dashem, Ladies Activity Chairman, encouraged members to make whoopie pies for the contest at the next meeting in July. The grange sponsors free food distributions and tries to help families in need by giving to the food and fuel fund in the com munity. The group is preparing an exhibit and a float for the Centre County Grange Fair.
