Bucks 4-H'ers host Wisconsin 4-H group
BUCKS COUNTY - The phrase
“You’ve got a friend in Penn
sylvania” will ring through a
group of Wisconsin 4-H’ers ears
during their visit to Bucks County
this summer.
Bucks County 4-h is hosting 10 4-
H’ers from Kenosha County,
Wisconsin, as part of an exchange
between the two 4-H teen groups of
July 13-19, 1984. The 4-H’ers will
stay in homes throughout Bucks
County and enjoy such activities as
exploring Philadelphia, touring the
Bucks County Courthouse, visiting
the New Jersey shore and tubing
down the Delaware River.

NEW HOLLAND - The Garden
Spot 4-H Home-Ec Club will hold
its annual Round-up and Fashion
Show July 12 at the Liberty Fire
Hall in New Holland at 7 p.m. The
theme for the event will be “New
York, New York”.
Cooking, crafts, and child care
projects will be displayed. The
girls will model their sewing
projects in the Fashion Show.
Perfect attendance and best
construction awards will be
presented, as well as ribbons for

Elizabeth Ann Mowry, 17-year
old daughter of Clarence and

Smicksburg. Elizabeth will be a
senior at Dayton and Lenape Vo-
Tech in Ford-city. Elizabeth’s
activities include the school

Danette Caffrey; entertainment,

Nesbit of Marchand. Beth is a 1982
graduate of Punxsutawney Area
High School and is currently a
sophomore attending Indiana
University of Pennsylvania
majoring in rehabilitation. Beth’s
activities include being a staff
correspondent for the Lancaster
Farming, 1981 Alternate Dairy
Princess, a former 4-H member of
the Northern Indiana County 4-H
Dairy club and an active member
of the Marchand United Methodist
Church. Beth owns a total of 30
Registered Holsteins from her
family’s herd of 200.
Contest rules and regulations
were read to all contestants and
their mothers at a tea that was
held on June 12. An orientation and
practice for the pageant was held
on June 30, at McVitty auditorium
on the Indiana University of
Pennsylvania campus. - BN
