QUESTION - Mrs. Ralph Todd, Elmer, NJ, would like a
recipe for homemade yogurt using raw milk. She also wants
a recipe for woopie pies in chocolate, oatmeal and pumpkin
like the ones sold at Roots in Manheim.
ANSWER - Mrs. Denise Koser, Elizabethtown, requested
a recipe for Apple Crisp Thanks go to Mrs. Samuel F. Zook,
Christiana, and to Fern Schlegel, Dalmatia, who shared
their recipes.
Apple Crisp
Pare and slice enough apples to cover 8 or 10-mch pan
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 tablespoon flour
Vi teaspoon cinnamon
Crumb topping:
V* cup brown sugar
Vz cup flour
% cup minute oatmeal
Vz cup butter or oleo
Mix all together by hand until mixture becomes crumbly
Mix granulated sugar, tablespoon flour and cinnamon dry,
sprinkle over apples, then cover with crumb topping. Bake
at 350° F. for 30 to 40 minutes. May be eaten warn or cold.
Apple Crisp
Vi cup butter
1 cup flour
1 cup brown sugar
4 or 6 medium sized apples
2 teaspoons cinnamon
Slice apples in casserole. Cover with crumbs made from
the ingredients and bake 3 /« hour at 350° F.
