Delmarva Poultry

Report supplied by USDA
Market Comment; Movement on
ready to cook whole birds was a
little better today but still remains
fair in most quarters. While
current production is clearing,
there remains some additional
products available for sale. Cutlets
are irregular as some plants are
short while others have an
adequate supply. The balance of
items is clearing reasonably well
under a fair demand.
Slaughter schedules are
moderately heavy. Live supplies
are adequate. Weights are
desireable in most quarters.
Undertone is generally steady.
Today’s L.T.L. asking prices are
unchanged on U.S. Grade A at 62-67
cents.

Market Comment: Pricing is
irregular, but 27 cents delivered
into the plant is now the most being
paid for next week’s shipment.
Offerings have increased and this
allows plants to run heavier but not
full schedules. Live offerings are
spotty and expected to tighten up
again as Easter approaches.
Prices Paid at Farm:
Light Type Hens: 23-26.
F. 0.8. Plant: 27-28, mostly 27.

MARKET COMMENT: Prices
unchanged. Cartoned egg
movement was fair to generally
good with traders reporting that
not only promotions but regular
business was much improved.
Locally floor stocks are adequate
for immediate needs, but the in

has increased. Offerings are
available and dealers can still get
covered, but the discounting has
all but disappeared. Undertone
fully steady.
