Staff Correspondent
COCHRANTON - Nancy Jo
Mitrich and Kevin Field were
honored as the 1983 Outstanding
Girl and Boy at the Northwest
Penna. Ayrshire Breeders annual
spring meeting last Saturday.
The youths were awarded $5O
savings bonds from the local club.
Presenting the awards was Debbie
Lyons, youth program director of

youths had devoted a lot of time
and effort in putting their scrap

Lyons noted this was the first
year for the awards, which will be
continued next year. Any youth
who is a junior Ayrshire member
and resides in any of the following
counties, Butler, Crawford, Erie,
Mercer, Lawrence, Beaver,
Warren, Venango or McKean, may
compete in the contest. Ap
plications may be obtained by
contacting Debbie Lyons, Sugar
Lake Road, Cochranton, Pa. 16314
or phone 814-425-3656.
The youths will be honored at the
state meeting this weekend as the
Penna. Outstanding Boy and Girl.
Vice President Barbara Rader
conducted the business meeting in
absence of the president. The local
club will be selling fund-raising
chances on $lOO and $5O to be
drawn on Sept. 8 at the Northwest
District 4-H Show.
The club will be awarding two
leather show halters for the grand
