There were 58 people in what appeared to be a very large rowboat. We were greeted by the beat of steel drums on this 110-acre tropical paradise. After a barbecue, we had the opportunity to swim and sunbathe in this world of sun, sand, and crystal-clear waters. In the afternoon, I had signed up for a four-hour sailing tour in the Tobago Cays. The captain, a young Frenchman, and his crew were kept busy handling the sails. We were taken ashore by motorboat to an uninhabited island. Here we had a chance to swim and I was first in troduced to snorkehng. We saw some beautiful coral here. L. And long ago, my sister had been his medical secretary. As they say, it is a small world. I hadn’t seen them for years and years. On the return trip our sailboat dipped and rocked quite a bit. I talked to ladies from Georgia, Mississippi and two from Ireland. Rum punch is served continually as it is produced here in the islands from sugar cane. I ate my meals on the ship at the main seating at 6:45 p.m. The other half of the passengers ate at 8:45 p.m. The dining room was decorated each day according to the country whose food was served that night. We used the elevators quite a lot as we moved from our room on the Baja Deck to the other activities. The pool was on the Lido Deck and the International Lounge was on the Rivera Deck. Then again we’d go to the Continental Dining Room on the Promenade Deck. The lobby was on the Aurora Deck and it took some time to become accustomed to where everything was located. The Perry County 4-H Dairy Club held a reorgamzational meeting recently. John Harris, County Extension agent, showed a slide presentation on “Good Management Practices for Raising Heifers.” New members were enrolled and officers were elected, as follows: President- Irene Benner, Vice-President-Ben Dum Jr., Secretary-Brenda Hummel, Treasurer-Judy Knebel, News Reporter-Jenny Kriebel, and Game Leaders-Joe Albright and John Brofee. Irene Benner reported on the trip that she and Dan Albright took to the North American International Livestock Exposition in Kentucky.
