He plans to continue work in the family’s Tobi Hill Farms - retail beef operation. mary McMullen The projects of Mary Eileen McMullen at Twin Valley have included greenhouse, flower shop and market stand activities. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick McMullen, Elverson, she has served as chapter secretary and reporter and county secretary. Her chapter awards have come in public speaking and she has been in State FFA Chorus for four years. She has chaired committees involved in Food for America, Slave Sale, Vo-Ag Fair, Public Relations, County leadership training and food baskets. Her extracurricular activities have been in Future Business Leaders, Future Homemakers, Junior Achievement and softball. In the future she plans to either continue working in the family’s greenhouse and flower shop or continue schooling to be an agricultural aide. 22 HQI f* 0 * BRENDA WERNER Brenda Wynn Werner had served as chapter president and vice president at Twin Valley and Berks County FFA secretary and president before graduating and moving on to study animal husbandry at Delaware Valley College. At Twin Vallek her' project centered on quarter horses and committee assignments included window exhibit, raffle, pumpkin contest, Food for America and BOAC. She participated in parliamentary procedure and public speaking competition, State FFA Band, project book contest, dairy, livestock and land judging She took a first place in the state project book competition. Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Werner, R 2 Elverson, she plans to continue her education and training toward operation of a horse breeding farm. LISA YODER Lisa Yoder’s main project at Twin Valley FFA centered on her work at an animal research facility. A five-year member, she chaired BOAC and safety committees and served on Food for America, poster and citrus groups. She also helped plan dairy farm tours for elementary students and the teacher appreciation breakfast. She took a first place in the state interview contest and took part in parliamentary procedure, public speaking, project books and land judging. Blair Bellwood-Antis WILLIAM WALKER President of the Bellwood-Antis FFA Chapter at Bellwood-Antis High School is William R. Walker. Previously, he has served as chapter sentinel and student ad visor. Among his many varied projects have been swine breeding and finishing, field corn, strawberries, sweet corn, tomatoes, Christmas trees, beef breeding and potatoes. In addition to winning two gold medals in state competition in public speaking, he has served on committees for the awards banquet, Greenhand initiation and the Bedford Fair swine show. Among his other activities are football, varsity club and the Tipton Baptist Youth Group. His hobbies include hunting and fishing He plans to continue in volvement on the family farm. Central Cove DARRELL CLAPPER Darrell Clapper is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clair Clapper, of Rl Martinsburg and a senior at Central High School. He is president of the Central Cove FFA this year and served as assistant treasurer last year. Clapper works on the family’s farm that includes 90 acres and a 30-cow herd. His FFA farming program is centered around dairy cattle and field crop enterprises. The program won a gold award in 1982 m the three-enterprise division and a silver medal in 1983 in the four-enterprise division.
