However some plants have reported a much improved inquiry for next week. Movement on parts is light and unagressive but leg, leg quarters and wings are starting to move better at lower levels while breasts and cutlets have not appeared to respond at lower values. Slaughter schedules remain moderately heavy. Live supplies are adequate. Weights remain on heavier than desired sides at several plants. Undertone ranges from steady to mostly weak. 1.04 1.00 .99 .97 .76 .93 Today’s L.T.L. asking prices are .02 lower on U.S. Grade A at .55-.60 cents. Balance unchanged. While cartoned egg orders have tapered from pre- Thanksgiving levels, they are still holding at fairly decent levels. Jumbos and extra large are in excess of needs, and some traders are packing some extra large into large cartons. Large are adequate, and here again some of the lighter weight large are moving into medium cartons. Mediums remain in light supply in most quarters. Locally, the call for eggs is fairly good as some processors try to supplement a loss in production. Offerings of graded loose are adequate, and while some increase is noted in the availability of nest runs, they are still in demand.
