BY JANE BRESEE Staff Correspondent WASHINGTON, D.C. - Annette Schucker and Jane Bresee, of Bradford County, were among the 140 rural women attending a White House briefing to hear from John E. Block and other top government officials about the status of current issues of importance to the agricultural community. Mrs. Schucker is a member of the state Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS) Committee and owns a dairy farm near Troy. Mrs. Bresee, a correspondent for Lancaster Farming, and a dairy farm wife, lives near Ulster. Other farm and ranch women from around the nation were in vited to the special meeting held for them in honor of National Farm Women’s Month at the New Executive Office Building, Washington, D.C. A graduate of Oregon State University, Ms. Hamilton earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in clothing and textiles. Rutt women met with Ray Lett, executive assistant to the Secretary to discuss farm issues, From 4 until 6 p.m., a Thanksgiving Reception was held at the patio of the Department of Agriculture with guest speaker, Peter Myers. According to Mrs. Mosher, coordinator, another Farm Women’s Forum will be held in Washington next April 11 to 13. both the National and Oregon State Associations of Extension 4-H Agents and the American Association of University Women. Walker, currently associate Extension agent in Washington County, received the 1962 State Achievement Award for organizing a Sheep and Wool Field Day for southwestern Penn sylvania sheep producers. The event drew more than 1,500 visitors who participated in educational workshops and viewed demon strations and exhibits. Walker also has coordinated an equine sym posium. Horse owners representing breed associations from New Jersey to Colorado participated in the event.
