Breeds represented in the contest were Angus, Charolais, Chianina, Hereford, Polled Hereford, Shorthorn and Sim mental. The show was judged by Tom Turner, Columbus, Ohio. Named the Angus breed grand champion was an April junior yearling heifer owned by Cathy Shive, Seven Valleys. The heifer, SAF Queen Dolly was sired by PS Power Play. Reserve honors went to David Hutchins, West Man sfield, Ohio, and his Linbacker daughter, Millcreek Femtastic RlB2. Carla Clutter, Prosperity, swept the Charolais show winning both the grand and reserve grand champion titles. Her grand entry, Derby’s Sane 2118, was a summer yearling sired by WF Silver Hatchet. Late summer yearling 4C Star’s Beth, sired by HCR Ex pectation Jr., won the reserve title. An early summer yearling heifer owned by David Farmer, Win chester, Ohio, topped the Chianina show. The heifer, E R Miss Blackbird Ml3l, was sired by Faletto. David Grimes, Decatur, Ohio, and his heifer, Eagle Crk Southern Belle, took the reserve title. The junior calf was sired by Walco Ky Colonel. The only entry in the Hereford class was also awarded the championship title. The junior calf, RF Miss Squaw 375, was owned by Natalie Renner, Waynesburg. RF Adv 359 D 4 was the sire. Polled Hereford championship honors were earned by Lynn Wise, New Philadelphia, Ohio, and Stan Roadcap, Staunton, Va. Wise and her senior heifer calf, RW Twiggy 107 H 49, sired by STLBRK Gilead were named the grand champions. Roadcap’s early summer yearling heifer, TK Lady Wilt 42, was named reserve champion. MB Jogahan Wilt was the sire. Edward McLaughlin, Wood sfield, Ohio, and his early summer yearling entry filled the cham pionship spot in the Shorthorn class. R W Delta Dawn, sired by Windholme Robin King, was the winner. Reserve honors went to Sharon McLaughlin, Woodsfield, Ohio, and lOM’s Dottie Miss 883. The senior calf was sired by Windholme Clark. Rounding up the junior beef breeding show was the Simmental class lead by Greg Woodard, New Concord, Ohio, and Sarah Messick, Middletown. Woodard and his late junior yearling Abricot daughter, Miss SKR Abby P 2, were named the grand champion winners. Messick and her late junior yearling heifer were the reserve winners.
