B2B—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, October 8,1983 RICHMOND, Va. - The York County 4-H Livestock Judging team representing Pennsylvania for 1963 participated in the Eastern U.S. Regional Livestock judging contest held in conjunction with the Virginia State Fair at Richmond, Va, on Sept. 24. The team participated with eight other states in the contest. In sheep judging, Bill Wise, Spring Grove was 2nd place individual. The team placed 2nd in the contest in sheep judging. In swine judging, Julie Myers, Wellsville, was Ist place individual and Bill Wise was sth place individual with the team placing third. The beef judging division - Julie Myers was 3rd place individual and Bill Wise was 4th, with the team placing Ist in the contest. FLEMINGTON, NJ - Thirty one exhibitors displayed 454 exhibits in the Hunterdon County 4- H Horticulture Show. This an nouncement was made by mem bers of the Hunterdon County 4-H Horticulture Council. Members receiving special recognition at the show wifi be honored at their next meeting. Best of Show Honors in the vegetable show went to Anne Marie Siebenlist, 15, Glen Gard ner, for her melon. Franklin Township resident, Shirley Lefebvre, received the most ex cellents in this division, a total of sixteen. Miss Siebenlist also displayed a dried flower picture which won her Best of Show in the indoor gar dening division. The team was Ist place overall with 1,613 pts. and Ken tucky placed 2nd with 1,677 pts. Julie Myers was Ist place in dividual m the total contest with a score of 588 pts. and Bill Wise was 3rd place individual with 552 pts. The team will participate in the Eastern National Livestock Judging Contest Oct. 8 at Timomum, Md. and later in November the team will represent Pennsylvania at the National Livestock Judging Contest to be held in Louisville, Kentucky. The coaches of the team are Bill Holloway, York, Brenda Walter, Airville, and Tony Dobrosky, Glen Kock. basket which was the best entry in the indoor gardening Group B. Maria Garguila, Pittstown, received 25 excellents to earn the Best Exhibitor Award in this division. Miss Lefebvre, 16, topped the flower show portion with her prize winning cosmos exhibit. Shirley also received the most excellents, 12, in this division. Miss Garguila was also the best exhibitor in the herbs section of the show. She earned a total of 10 excellents. Best of Show honors in this group went to Anne Marie Siebenlist for her sage.
