I'i \ YORK Junior and senior members of the Pa. Polled Hereford Association competed for honors at the association's sum mer show held during the York Fair, Sunday, Sept. 11. Junior member competition headed the contest with Suzanne Schmidt and Jackie Kirschner showing the top heifers. Schmidt, Monkton, Md., lead her early junior yearling heifer to the grand championship spot. The heifer, S and J Miss Vind 20L, was sired by Vindicator. Filling the reserve cham pionship slot was Jackie Kir schner, Monongahela. Kirschner’s junior heifer, SJF Miss Dancer 21R, sired by Wildcat Sundance 7K, won the honor. Following the junior show, the younger Polled Hereford Association members competed for showmanship honors. Named senior showman was Robert Livingston, Dover. Duane Glessner, Waynesboro, was the intermediate winner and Travis Worley, junior showman. In the Open Hereford Show, Huckleberry Hall Farms, Smithsburg, Md., dominated the championship arena winning both the heifer and bull honors. Named the grand champion heifer was HHF Sweet Lass lIP, a late junior yearling sired by BT PRL Driver 536 L. The grand and reserve grand champion bull titles were also awarded to Huckleberry Hall Farms. The late junior yearling bull entry; HHF Power Performer 16P, was grand champion. HHF Vindicator I 17N, an early 2-year old, was reserve champion. Selected by judge Gary Dean as reserve grand champion heifer was GS Rockette 289 P.
