B24—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, September 10,1983 Solanco fair judging opens on Wednesday QUARRYVILLE - The 34th Southern Lancaster County Community Fair opens on Wed nesday and continues through Friday. Activities begin at 3 p.m. Tuesday, at which time exhibits will be accepted for competition. Exhibits may be entered Tuesday, from 3 p.m. to 10 p.ra. and Wed nesday until 10a.m. Most exhibits will be Judged Wednesday afternoon. De|fcrt ments include Dairy, Beef Cattle, Sheep, Swine, Rabbits, Forage and Grain, Vegetables, Fruit and Nuts, Home and Dairy Products which includes Baited Products and Canned or Dried Products, Floral, Needlecraft including Clothing and Needlwork, and Art, Photography, and Crafts. The Food Committee prepares full course meals and individual food items each day in the Hoff man Building. Chicken Pot Pie N.H. 782 FORAGE 'X\ HARVESTER dinners will be featured all day Wednesday. Thursday’s luncheon special is Beef Stew followed by a Ham Supper from 4-8 p.m. Friday’s special is Hot Roast Beef Sandwich. Also, a large variety of food items are available at our numerous food stands located throughout the fairgrounds. Highlights of Wednesday’s ac tivities include judging dairy cattle at 11 a.m., the Parade at 6:45 p.m., and the tug-of-war competition at 8:30 p.m. Thursday will feature the LET US TEAR YOU UP WITH THE tractor driving contest 10 a.m., judging dairy cattle 11 a.m., judging swine at 3 p.m., judging baby beet 6:30 p.m., the Baby Parade 7 p.m., and the Solanco Fair Olympics at 8:15 p.m. Friday’s main events are the market hog and baby beef sale at 2 p.m., games for Ist to Sth grades 6:30 p.m. and special en tertainment featuring RE CREATION at 7:30 p.m. An ex panded Petting Zoo sponsored by the Solanco FFA is open each day.
