ARENDTSVILLE - The Grand
Champion 4-H Steer at the 1963
South Mountain Fair was shown by
Amy Sherman, Abbottstown. The
steer was a 1125 lb. Charolais. Amy
was also named Champion
Showman and placed 3rd in the
Intermediate Fitting Class. She
also showed the Champion
Charolais heifer.
Reserve Grand Champion 4-H
Steer was shown by Tim Spangler,
Gettysburg. He also placed 4th in
the Sr. Fitting Class and 6th in Sr.
Showman Class. Tim also had a
first place heifer in the Crossbred
heifer class.
Mike Spangler, Gettysburg, had
Champion Heavyweight Steer. He
also placed 2nd in the Sr. Showman
Class and 6th in the Sr. Fitting
Class. Mike has 2nd place heifer in
the Crossbred heifer class.
Came Darcey, Fairfield,
showed Champion Lightweight
Steer. She also was named
Reserve Champion Fitter and
placed sth in the Jr. Showman
Class. Carrie also had Champion
Polled Hereford Heifer.
Todd Lebo, Abbottstown, had
Reserve Champion Heavyweight
steer. He also placed sth in the Jr.
Fitting Class and 7th in the Jr.
Showman Class.
Scott Millar, Gettysburg, had
Reserve Champion Lightweight
Steer. He also placed 3rd in the Jr.
Fitting Class and 2nd in the Jr.
Showman Class.
Paul Quanbeck, Fairfield,
showed Champion and Reserve
Champion Santa Gertrudis 4-H
heifers. He also placed 3 in the Sr.
Fitting Class and Sth in Sr.
Showman Class.
Lewis Hilbert, Littlestown,
showed the Champion Crossbred
heifer and had 2nd place light
Middleweight Steer. He also
placed 2nd in the Intermediate
Fitting Class and 3rd in the In
termediate Showman Class.
Tony Spangler, Gettysburg,
showed Reserve Champion
Crossbred heifer and has 2nd place
middle middleweight steer. He

Steer Class. She also placed 4th in
the Jr. Showman Class and 7th in
the Jr. h iituig Class
Matt Young, Gettysburg, placed
Ist in the Middle Middleweight
steer class. Matt was named
Reserve Champion Showman. He
also placed sth in the Sr. Pitting
Class.
Dennis Flickmger, Gettyburg,
was named Champion Fitter. He
also placed 4th in the Sr. Showman
Class. Dennis had 2nd place in the
heavy Heavyweight steer class.
Jaime Boyer, East Berlin,
placed Ist in the light Heavyweight
steer class. He also placed 3rd in
the Jr. showman Class and 6th in
the Jr. Fitting Class.

The 4-H Steers will be shown on
Tuesday, October 25 at the 25th
Annual York/Adams 4-H Beef
Show. Adams County and York
County 4-H members will be
competing .together in the show.
The steers will be sold about 7 p.m.
on Tuesday, October 25 at the
Thomasville Livestock Auction.
The sale is a competitive bid
auction with highest bidder getting
the steer. You are especially in
vited to attend and support these
youth by buying a steer. You can
use it for your freezer or re-sell the
steer at the Wednesday evening
sale. For additional information,
