Slaughter Steers and Heifers ranged .75-1.25 lower through Wednesday of this week. Aside from some slight improvement Monday, prices trended lower daily, led downwards by a declining beef trade. Fairly liberal Slaughter rates also factored in the downturn, and a bearish tone governed the market at midweek. Steers under 1050 lbs. and Heifers under 950 lbs. again in narrow demand and discounted ac cordingly. Cows fully 1.00 higher. Bulls steady. Steers comprised 47 pet of the week’s receipts: Heifers 41 pet.; Cows 5 pet; Feeders 3 pet. Four day receipts 11874, last week 10097; year ago 9724.
