Florida: Currents, Glickauf and Op penheimer, Inc., a brokerage firm in West Palm Beach. Fla., pleaded nolo contendere to charges of mislabeling beef livers and was fined $250 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri. USDA compliance officers found a shipment of beef livers that had been relabeled as calf livers. New Jersey: The U.S. District Court of Newark, N.J., convicted Frank Atanasio, president of Two Counties Dressed Abattoir, on two misdemeanor counts: failure to destroy condemned lamb carcasses and preparation of those carcasses for use as human food. Norther Mountain Butcher Shop of Newville purchased the light weight Champion of Jeff Bricker’s for 90 cents. The Lightweight Champion weighed in at 177 pounds. Wendy Bretz’s mediumweigbt champion of 209 pounds was purchased by Packing Company for 90 cents. Forty-seven lots were sold at the FFA Market Hog sale with an average sale price of 82 cents. Other buyers supporting the nty the champion FFA market hog owned by Chris Hopple, left, was purchased by Jeff Craig of Wayne F. Craig and Sons. Shippensburg.
