Sponsored by the Department of accepted for ram testing program Agriculture in cooperation with the Penn State Department of Dairy and Animal Science; the Pa. Sheep and Wool Growers Association and the State Breed Association, nominations for the testing program are being accepted between Aug. 1 and Nov. 30. The purpose of the program is to promote performance testing of sheep in Pennsylvania and to provide a common test for evaluating rate of gain, structural soundness, muscularity, condition, and estimated carcass merit The program is also concerned with providing a genetically sound testing program and an op portunity for purebred breeders and commercial producers to purchase performance tested rams.
