Slaughter Steers and Heifers ranged 1.00-2.00 lower through Wednesday of this week. Cows 1.50-2.00 lower. Bulls steady. Fed cattle prices skidded ot the lowest level since February 1983, precipitated by a 3.00-5.00 decline in the carcass beef trade. Fairly liberal early week receipts also kept pressure on the market; although slight price recovery noted on Wednesday’s modest supply. Demand from most buying interests proved Good at the decline, except on Steers and Heifers under 1075 lbs. and 925 lbs. respectively, these still subject to discounts.
