Cartoned egg movement is fair to occasionally good. Orders have generally shown some movement. The draw from fast food and HHI outlets has been noted very good. Despite product demand, the floor stocks are adequate for the current call. Jumbos are short. Extra large are barely adequate to short. Although some scattered lots of graded loose are available in the mid-west and southeast, very few lots are available locally. Graded loose large and Class 2’s are ample, and surplus lots are very common throughout the area. Class I’s (48- 49 lbs.) are adequate and available while the heavier weights (50-51 pounds; note a better demand as traders look for receipts of extra large and jumbos. Mediums and Class 3’s are m a little better balance but are at least fully adequate overall. Most plants are meeting orders to regular receivers but have UUle if any additional product available for add-on business. Legs remain short and wanted. Leg quarters and wings are well cleared and some plants are now having dif ficulty in meeting the orders on these items. Breasts and cutlets continue to improve but supplies are adequate in most quarters. Less-than-truck-load asking prices are one cent higher at 52-56 cents. Slaughter schedules are moderately heavy. Large supplies are adequate. Weights are irregular, but ui total the weights on the shore have become lighter. Actual June 1980.
