Philadelphia Eggs
Thursday, June SC
Report supplied by USDA
MARKET COMMENT; Prices
are lower Cartoned egg orders are
irregular with most dealers noting
an improvement, but only to fair
levels. Much of the improvement is
attributed to a loss of a delivery
day Monday, rather than a pick up
in demand. Jumbo short. Extra
large are slightly more available
with dealers’ floor stocks in a
range of barely adequate to
adequate. Graded loose large and
mediums are ample and
discounting is very common and
needed in order to consumate a
sale. Class l’s are available and
the heavier weights can usually be
moved, but lighter weights are
more difficult to clear. Class ITs
are ample to burdensome; Class
Ill’s are ample with some of these
classes moving to breakers. Un
dertone range is from weak to
steady.
Prices to retailers: Sales to
volume buyers, consumer grades

Delmarva Poultry
Thursday, June 30
Report supplied by USDA
Market Comment; Ready to
cook movement on whole birds is
good and sufficient to keep
production clearing quite
satisfactorily. Legs are short and
wanted. Leg quarters and wings
continue to clear, but some plants
found the demand not as brisk as
before. Cutlets and breasts con
tinue to struggle and discounting is
evident from several quarters.
L.T.L. asking prices are 2 cents
higher at 51 to 56 cents. Fodder
schedules are heavy. Live supplies
are fully adequate. Average
weights are generally desirable.
Undertone is steady.
Estimated slaughter of broiler
fryers in Delmarva (000).

The DeKalb Sex Sal brown egg layer is a remarkable
layer. Weighing barely a pound more than a Leghorn,
her egg laying potential equals that of the top white
egg layers. Egg sizing and hen liveability are excellent.
Feed efficiency is within Vz Ib./doz. eggs of a Leghorn.
If your customers demand brown eggs., or you want
to establish a distinctTarm-fresh brown egg identity...
the DeKalb Sex Sal is your profit-making alternative.
