Omaha Cattle
/ Thursday, June 30
Report Supplied By USDA
Compared to last week’s close,
slaughter others and heifers
ranged steady to 50 lower through
Wednesday of this week. Two-way
type steers 1.00-1.50 lower. Cows
steady to 50 lower. Bulls steady.
Lower dressed beef prices and a
sharp curtailment in demand for
two-way steers kept pressure on
the fed cattle market through the
week. A solid demand existed for
mostly choice steers and heifers
scaling over 1125 lbs. and 975 lbs.
respectively ; while lighter weight
cattle came under a narrow
demand and were discounted
accordingly. Overall finish again
very ordinary.
Steers comprised 52 pet of the
.week’s receipts; Heifers 36 pet;
-cows 7 pet; feeders 4 pet. Four day
receipts 11835; Last week 11896;
