Dearden joined the Hershey corporation in 1957 as assistant to the Chairman of the Board; became products manager in 1961, Director of sales and marketing, 1965, vice president of sales and marketing in 1967, group vice president m 1971 and assumed his present position in 1975. He told the story of Milton Hershey, a man who shared himself and never lost sight of the human aspect of life. His dream was to educate only a hundred boys. In his lifetime he saw 1250 students in the school at one time. In 1979 girls were also included in the curriculum. There are presently 350 girls or about a fourth of the total enrollment.
