018—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, June 4,1983 FLEMINGTON, N.J. - There are a number of events on the summer ag schedule that should have wide appeal in Hunterdon County. Two are Hunterdon traditions, a third "-eems to be destined for that 1 of distinc tion. The Farmers' isinessmen’s Picnic is an amr affair, spon sored by the Hu irdon County Board of Agriculture, aimed at building strong relationships between the fanner and the business community. The first picnic was held on the Charles Cane Farm, Rosemont, in 1936. Most generally held on a farm, occasionally it’s moved to a non-farm but somehow farm related business. The Rural Ramble has been going on for longer than I can recall. It’s been a popular con servation, natural resource development kind of activity, often featuring stops at farms, nur series, housing developments. Promoter of this event is the Hunterdon County Soil Con servation District with Soil Con servation Service and Cooperative Extension combining efforts witfr the district supervisors. 1 CALL US FOR FREE ESTIMATES | on TOP QUALITY BARN SPRAY & BRUSH PAINTING i Try Our New Concept In Penetration And Adhesion.
