Alisa trained and currently works with him and states that be is an excellent English-riding mount. HL Chanceller, the other stud at Hidden Lane is the 7-year old, dapple grey son of Mi Antoine. Also trained and shown by Alisa, “Chancellor” has been a ribbon winner in Delware, New Jersey, and Maryland, as well as Penn sylvania. An accomplished horsewomen, Alisa has had Arabians since she was 12 years old and has shown her gelding, HC Gildason, to the East Coast Championship at Devon. Currently living in California, Alisa has worked for “Make Relieve” Arabian Farm out on the west coast, and hopes to start her own small breeding operation out there. As she names the other hoses stabled in the barn, Alisa states that in an Arabian name, the tern “Ibn” means “son of’ and the word “Bint” means “daughter of’, and a + behind a name means that the horse has earned his ‘ ‘Legion of Merit” status. The horses are joined on the farm by a small herd of purebred Angus cattle. The Angus cows were purchased at an Angus sale in Harrisburg, and reside in a meadow and small barn next to the horse stables. Since the “kids were always at the barn with my husband, I decided that I didn’t want to be with them all the time,...the horses weren’t my thing,” Mrs. Burditch explains, so, she started working with a blind group as a volunteer. “I like to cook, I like to clean”, Mrs. Burditch replies as she ex plains how she has the group out to the homestead at least once a year for a gourmet dinner, field trips, and a “bands on” experience with the animals. Mrs. Burditch is currently president of the group. Arts for the Blind and Sighted, and also serves as coordinator for special events. Although she still refers to herself as a student, Mrs. Burditch teaches sculpture and pottery to the blind at classes held each Wednesday and Thursday. The group, consisting of adults and children, currently conducts classes at the Community Arts Center in Wallingford and all monies collected from their special projects go into a budding fund for their own center. With the group for about 11 years, Mrs. Burditch states that she has learned to enjoy her husband’s hobbies and he enjoys her Blind group, and presently serves as chairman of the building committee.
