E4—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, April 16,1983 TROY, Mich. Ford tractor dealers will introduce a new and expanded four-model lineup of over-100-horsepower TW Senes agricultural tractors later this spring, according to R.J. Nicolazzi, general operations manager of Ford Tractor’s North American Sales Operations. “The new models will give farmers a wider and more com plete choice from which to select the right tractor for their in dividual needs,” Nicolazzi said. “Compared to the models they replace, our new TW Series lineup covers a broader horsepower range, offers improved fuel economy, and provides a number of new and standard features to improve productivity. To be built at Ford Tractor’s Romeo, Mich., manufacturing and assembly plant, the new models - TW-35, TW-25, TW-15 and TW-5 - will replace the TW-30, TW-20 and TW-10 in Ford’s current product line. “The new TW-35 model has a 170 PTO-horsepower rating compared to 163 horsepower for the current TW-30. making it the most PAUL B. Describing hydraulic system improvements, Nicolazzi said the hydraulic-power-lift system for merly used only on the TW-30 is standard on the new models. “That gives the TW-5 and TW-15 models a 19 percent increase in lift capacity to more easily handle larger im plements,” he pointed out. “The heavier hydraulic-lift linkage also is standard on all models.” “We also are offering an elec tronic performance monitor and a quick-attach hitch two new factory options to improve productivity,” Nicolazzi said. 1 Oufl (i D 3 DOD'H'Dfl' The performance monitor uses a radar beam to sense actual ground speed, then calculates and displays wheel slippage and other in formation such as acres worked and distance traveled. The operator can use this information to make adjustments in gear selection, engine rpm’s, im plement depth and other per formance variables to obtain maximum efficiency and operating economy. The new quick-attach hitch option allows the operator to at tach or detach implements without leaving his seat. It’s adjustable to accommodate Category II or 111 implements A new standard front axle offers excellent strength and a 50-degree turning angle, inproving the tur ning radius by 13 inches, or seven percent over the current axle. The new TW-25 and TW-35 also offer the longer front-end design of the current TW-30, providing 75 gallons of standard fuel capacity, improved weight distribution and sliding hood panels for easy access to maintenance points.
