Miller, who has served the Conservation District in numerous capacities and now holds the office of Chairman of the District. David Rider received a plaque for 15 years of dedicated work and service to the Conservation District. And, a 10-year service award was presented to Donald Basehore as a committee member and office holder. A District Director Service Award was presented to Roy E. Snoke. Snoke has served the 'District as past chairman and director and has held numerous other offices during his terms as director. Every year, the Cumberland County Conservation District sponsors a Conservation Poster Contest in elementary and high schools throughout the county.
