04—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, February 12,1983 Wayne markets new hog premix CHICAGO - Wayne Bodybuilder Premix, a new feed product for use with all hogs from 15 lbs. to market, as well as with sows, is now being marketed by the Wayne Feed Division of Con tinental Grain Company. The premix is a combination of calcium, phosphorus, salt, trace minerals, vitamins and a specific blend of protein ingredients that complement the amino acid levels of soybean meal. By formulating Wayne Bodybuilder Premix on an available amino acid basis, pork producers can use less soybean meal and more home-grown grain to make a ton of finished feed. “Since the formulation results in a combination of protein sources, the finished ration does not rely on soybean meal as the only amino acid source,” explains Dr. James D. Hedges, Manager of Swine Research for Wayne Feeds. “Furthermore, vitamins and trace minerals are added at a level to totally meet the hogs’ requirements with no reliance on natural ingredients as a source of these nutrients.” Dr. Hedges points out that the protein level in the ration is not important if the requireme/it for the essential amino acids has been met. Excess amino acids are not used in protein metabolism but are used as an expensive source of HAY WAGONS FOR SALE with or without running gear • Also wilt fit sides onto your flat wagon Compare the Steltzffvs Woodwork Calf Hutch lifting Hook „ for easy handling One Sheet BxarVent (Option) Galvanfeed (Option) Metal Roof Sturdy Zx« Minitrnction Treated skids exterior „v.sO ~ Berks County: Maryland; jqe RUTH LEROY HILDEBRAN rd #4133 Fleetwood Pa. 19522 Woodsboro, Md. 215-944-7571 301-845-8929 Lebanon County: UMBERGER'S MILL Rt. 322, RDM Lebanon. Because of the low inclusion rate, producers also have fewer storage and inventory concerns and fewer shipments. When mixed with soybean meal, grain and appropriate starter and sow packs, Wayne Feeds recommends adding Bodybuilder Premix at these rates per ton of complete feed: 125 lb. for pigs weighing from 15 through 60 lb. body weight. 100 lb. per ton for feeder pigs weighing from 40 to 70 lb. and for pigs from 60 to 125 lbs. 75 lb. for pigs weighing 125 lb. to market weight. 75 lb. for gestating sows.
