Some feeders are kept too full, or have holes that allow the grain to fall out and be wasted. Rodents such as rats and mice are very very wasteful and should be eliminated. We urge all farmers to check on their feeding practices to be sure that every pound of grain or hay is being consumed by the animals. Grain or hay tramped into the manure is wasteful and costly. Don’t permit it to happen on your farm.
