local Extension Service
sponsors a bus to the Pa.
Farm Show.
The bus will leave the
Wayne County Court
House at 8 a.m. and
Harrisburg at 6 p.m.,
returning to Honesdale
around 9 p.m.
The cost for the round
trip bus fare is $l2.

meets next month
WASHINGTON, D.C. - A noted
U.S. Senator, a farm credit
authority, a farm equipment
economist, and a fertilizer in
dustry leader will highlight the
speakers’ program at the 1983
Annual Meeting of The Fertilizer
Institute, Feb. 13-15, in Atlanta,
Ga.
Sen. Sam Nunn (D-Ga.), ranking
minority member of the Senate’s
Small Business and Government
Affairs committees, will open the
speaking portion of the three-day
meeting on Monday afternoon,
Feb. 14. He is expected to comment
on the current economic situation
as it affects agriculture and
suppliers of farm production in
puts.
The Senate leader’s remarks will
be followed by reports on the status
of the fertilizer industry and its
national association by Institute
Board Chairman Judson H.
Drewry, fertilizer group president,
International Minerals &
Chemical Corp., and by TFI
President Edwin M. Wheeler.

On Tuesday afternoon, speakers
will discuss farm credit and
agricultural outlook. C. T.
Fredrickson, senior deputy
governor, Farm Credit Ad
ministration, will present a
situation report on credit for 1983
farm operations. An analysis of the
year’s market for farm inputs,
such as equipment and fertilizers,
will be presented by Dean F.
McKee, a director, market
economics, Deere & Co. Rolf H.
Holzkaemper, president. Potash
Corp. of Saskatchewan Transport,
Ltd., will outline the changing
patterns of potash distribution.
The meeting’s general sessions are
open to non-members as well as
Institute members.
In addition, during the Monday
afternoon session. Institute
members will elect 13 individuals
to a three-year term on TFl’s 39-
member board. The newly
constituted board, subsequently,
will elect its executive committee,
chairman and vice chairman for
the 1983-84 year.
