reflect trading prices for gradable nest run eggs (GNU) on ECI, a nation
wide trading center for producers, packers and marketers. GNR eggs are
classified by weight in 30-dozen cases, and traded in lots of either 300 or
750 cases. Prices are FOB buyers dock, and are computed Tuesday and

MARKET COMMENT: Weak,
although some improvement is
reported. Discounting on both
whole birds and parts is usually the
only means of stimulating
movement and most items are
priced lower today. Most plants
feel definite signs of improvement
may be lacking with until mid next
week.
Today’s L.T.L. asking prices
lower on U.S. Grade Aat 42-46
cents with most plants open to
further negotation.
Estimated slaughter of broiler
fryers in Delmarva (000).
Slaughter schedules continue
heavy, although an occasional
plant has no slaughter schedule
today. Estimated 1,770,000; Actual
1,915,000; Actual 10/5 1,927,000;
Average Weights 10/5 4,38 revised
9/28 4.36. Live supply & weight
remain heavy - undertone continue
weak and unsettled.
MARKET COMMENT: Carton
egg movement moderate but
expected to improve thru the
weekend. Medium supplies'
irregular while all other sizes are
fully adequate to ample. Un
dertone is steady.
