The saddle, with a retail value of $1,700, was presented to Otto by G. Richard Keim, shop owner, Oct. 2, at the State 4-H Horse Show in Harrisburg. The recipient of the prize was the 1982 state horse division winner in national 4-H awards competition. He was judged on his leadership ability, statewide 4-H activities, and project work. Keim, who purchased the Kutz Harness Shop five years ago, said, that he contacted officials in Penn state recently to see if he could donate a saddle because of his interest in youth and their work with horses. He will make this award on a continuing basis. “I’ve never seen a youngster that works with horses get into serious trouble,” Keim added.
