Let's make brownies
Kids, want to make something delicious, but with a zippy
change of taste? Why not make brownies? They're fun and
easy to make Don’t you love it when mom puts brownies in
your lunch pail? Then treat her, too. But don’t make
traditional chocolate brownies...try butterscotch brownies
and have fun eating!
BUTTERSCOTCH BROWNIES
1/4 c. butter
1 c. dark brown sugar
1 egg, unbeaten
11. vanilla
1/2 c. sifted enriched flour
11. baking powder
1/21. salt
1/2 c. broken nuts
Melt butter. Stir in brown sugar until dissolved. Cool
slightly, then beat in egg and vanilla.
Mix and sift flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in with
nuts. Turn into greased BxB inch pan.
Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) 25 to 30 minutes.
Cut immediately into bars. Makes 16 or more bars. Have
fun!

Chester Equine Council to hold terrier trials
WEST CHESTER The Chester
County Equine Council recently
announced plans for their first
Terrier Trials, to be held on Aug.
28, 3 p.m., at Bryn Clovis Farm.
This farm is located on Providence
Road in Malvern.
Included in the classes will be
“go to ground,” and flat and hurdle
trials. Classes are $4 per entry if
preregistered, $5 post entry.
, The CCEC is offering a chicken
barbecue with wine and beer to be
served throughout the afternoon.

Livestock Market. The show will
start at 9:30 a.m., and the sale at
8:30 p.m.
Members will be judged on
fitting and showmanship, and a
champion will be selected in each
age category. A Grand and
