Weather for the fair was perfect for the three days of dairy cattle judging. More youth entries than usual for Tuesday’s show of 4H and FFA cattle were noted by Cooperative Extension Agent Orville Yoder who with the assistance of Jake Guffey, Ex tension Agent, moderated the shows. Approximately 500 cattle were run through the show ring in the three days. Bradford County Dairy Princess Valerie Moon with her alternates Sheryl Avery and Alisa Smith, Leroydale Coleen captured the Grand Champion Guernsey title for owner Paul Brackman of Canton, at halter. The trophies and plaques were donated by several businesses, cattle breeders, and cattle clubs. Judge for the colored breeds was Denny Wolfl of Millville, while Tom Dum 111 of Landisburg placed the Holstein and Brown Swiss breeds. Grand Champion Holstein for the Youth Show Day was Pack-herd Elevation Brassy bred by Richard and Marilyn Packard of East Troy, and owned and shown by 11-year old Terri Packard. The Packards earned off blue ribbons in many classes in the Holstein judging on Friday and ended .up Premier Breeder and Exhibitor with Richard and Georgia Jenkins of Troy running a close second. finished biggest year Grand Champion and Senior Champion Holstein ribbons were both taken by 'Windy-Mont Clude- Gigi owned and bred by George Page, Jr. of Columbia Cross Roads.
