WASHINGTON, D.C. - Lawerance V. Gray, a Nampa, Idaho, farmer, has been elected chairman of the Agriculture fcouncil of America for a one-year term. Gray, owner of LV. Gray Farms Inc., succeeds Roger Clark, a cattle-and-com producer from Brady Neb., and vice chairman of Farmland Industries. Lawerance and Mary Lou Gray and two of their three sons grow potatoes, sugar beets, mint, beans, spinach, sweet corn, barley and silage corn. Gray has been active on the Idaho Bean Commission since the 1960’s and also participates in school board, Beet Growers Association, Idaho Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service Committee and University of Idaho Agriculture Consulting Council activities. He has been active in ACA since 1975.
